Rho Chapter Wins Best organization on UMaine Fort Kent Campus Award
By Nathan Bouchard, Rho Chapter Alumni
For the fourth year in a row, Kappa Delta Phi’s Rho Chapter has won University of Maine at Fort Kent’s award for Best organization on campus. The brothers of Rho chapter were given the award for their outstanding commitment to community service and relentless involvement in campus activities.
Among the numerous philanthropic activities performed by the brothers was assistance with campus move-in, wherein they helped new students move into their dorm rooms. In the fall, they did a haunted walk for the local cub scouts and university students. They also participated in the Scarecrow festival/Come to Campus days, sponsoring a bonfire on Friday night, and assembling a float on Saturday. The brothers also put on a diamond dinner where they raised money for a number of local charities, including the local food pantry. The brothers also sponsored several game nights on campus, and held a toga party. The brothers also participated in the domestic violence awareness walk.
In the spring the brothers and sisters also helped out on Earth Day, by helping educate the children of the Saint John Valley. Toward the end of each semester, the brothers also put on late night breakfasts for students studying for finals.
In the spring, with Fort Kent beset by flooding, they also lent a hand on campus and in the community, an invaluable service to the campus and community at large.
Congratulations Brothers! Have a terrific and productive summer.
