The first two Well Balanced Kappas have been awarded to Brother Ryan Barnes and Sister Taryn Beaumont .

Barnes had an extraordinary career as an Active Brother. He pledged at Mu Chapter, UMaine Presque Isle and then transferred to UMaine Orono, the flagship of the Maine University system. Once there he re-founded the dormant Alpha Alpha chapter which is now at 13 men strong. He served as President of Alpha Alpha for the first two years of the chapters rebirth.

Ryan is a member of the UMaine Paintball club member and an IFC Member.

His contributions to campus volunteer efforts and community service are nothing short of amazing.
